scratch repair

Wet sand the touched up area with 2000 grit wet-sandpaper.

scratch repair

Wet sanding uses slightly soapy water (car wash soap) and 2000 grit wet-sandpaper.

scratch repair

The area to be sanded must be clean of sand or dirt. Sand carefully only where needed.

scratch repair

Apply a fine cut polish directly to the sanded area.

scratch repair

This shows the cut polish over the sanded area.

scratch repair

Polish with a wool pad evenly moving back and forth across the sanded area. RPM on polisher should not go over 1400.

scratch repair

Repeat if necessary until your wet sand marks are gone.

scratch repair

Take a finishing compound and polish area until it is shiny and compound scratches are gone.

scratch repair

Polish the area evenly with smooth strokes, and have polisher at about 1800 RPM.

Double check to make sure the wet sand marks are gone, and repolish if necessary.
